The Inglerrious Basterrda: Delubyo

basterrda:

Listen to Armi Millare’s newest genius.

Delubyo (or loosely translated to ‘deluge’) is Armi Millare’s (Up Dharma Down vocalist and keyboards) newest track. There are no announcements yet if this is a mere single or a part of a third album. Fans, including myself, are yearning for more.

In my 21 years of monotonous existence, I dread changes. I like my comfort spot in my world of black and white. The most exciting occasion in my life was when I got a one-day suspension in high school. Really.

I get my drama from watching too many canned series from U.S, but after a while, I got tired of all the technicality and switched to Swedish films (okay, one Swedish film) and other foreign flicks attempting to be a cerebral bitch who knows the world without stepping on her front door.

And so, I dwell in my place of zen, music. One too many Filipino artists have let me down. I know it’s not big of a deal knowing that I listen to countless Korean songs, but still. P-Pop? Don’t get me started on this fuckery. Sorry.

Back to Armi Millare.

Up Dharma Down has been a lifesaver since 2006. The first time I’ve heard of them through a music video from now-defunct MTV Pilipinas. Pag-Agos won me back. I’ve been a sore person with no hopes from OPM after Eraserheads era. Thinking right now, EHeads and UDD have quite different genres. But there’s parallelism when it comes to musical geniuses.

For so many reasons, I am glad that Up Dharma Down isn’t a pop culture. I can claim them for myself. I am greedy that way. I told you earlier, I’m used to my monotonous existence. I don’t need posers sprawling, clinging to a music they like just because everybody likes it. I understand how pop culture works, that’s why some things don’t need to be in it. Because like it or not, the beauty is snatched away by commercialism vultures.

But in the likelihood Armi and the band do jump in the bandwagon, I wish them well. Don’t mind me and my wishful thinking.

In the meantime, I am staying on my own little bubble, with Armi’s voice and her keyboards for company.

Delubyo, delubyo
